The Regional Officer for Bucks and Oxon is NINA BRIDGE. Nina’s main task is to set up Community Badminton Networks (CBN’s) and these are reported on in the following pages. Click here for her profile. Nina can be contacted on 07901 005320 or at ninabridge@badmintonengland.co.uk.

Nina is working to support the South East Regional Plan (click here for copy) of BADMINTON England. There is now a South Eat Newsletter (dated Aug 2010) - click here to view. Nina has set up Community Badminton Networks in Aylesbury, Wycombe and South Bucks and Chiltern. Please click on the relevant tab under Development to take a look at what is going on in each area.

Nina is planning to set up the 4th and final CBN in Milton Keynes at the end of this year. She has already made links with several clubs in the area as well as with the School Sports Partnership and Local Authority. Nina is very much looking forward to starting work in this area. An MK Tournament for casual players (non league playing) has been organised for the 16th October at Stantonbury Leisure Centre - ladies, mens and mixed doubles. Click here for an Entry Form. For more information contact Kirsty Heath (MK Sports Development) on 01908 254456 or by email at kirsty.heath@milton-keynes.gov.uk

Adult Return to Badminton programmes are planned to take place all year round within each CBN. No Strings badminton sessions are taking place in South Bucks. There are many opportunities for Social Play across the county also within clubs and leisure facilities. Please contact Nina for more information.

Development work for Young People is planned to take place in the schools between September and next April. It is hoped that we will forge better links between schools and local junior clubs to ensure we generate the interest and then signpost the relevant players to a club environment to continue playing. Wycombe Performance Centre is also creating better links with the schools in order to identify talent at school badminton festivals. It is hoped that we will find the No. 1 star of tomorrow here!

Bucks supports the Young Officials programme of BADMINTON England. Ian Moody has been appointed as the Bucks Co-ordinator for this programme and can be contacted on ianmoody@globalnet.co.uk.
