Milton Keynes Junior Badminton Club (MKJBC)
About Us
Milton Keynes Junior Badminton Club (MKJBC) is a friendly club for players aged 10 to 18 years old based at Shenley Leisure Centre, which is run by the parents of the players. The club meets on Saturday afternoons:
– Session 1 for younger/beginner players from 12:30 to 14:30
– Session 2 for older/experienced players from 14:30 to 16:30
Each Session uses all 4 courts at the Leisure Centre and can have up to 22 players. We play with feather shuttles to allow the players to be able to progress to a good level of skill. The club has a Level 2 coach running each session supported by Level 1 coaches. The head coach is Andrei Wiltshire who runs Session 2 and also manages the teams that play in the Aylesbury and District Badminton League.
Visitors are welcome and are charged £10 with the hope that they will join the club after a couple of visits.
The club has rackets which can be lent to visitors before they buy their own racket and we request that players wear indoor shoes.
Annual fee for 2021/2022 (38 weeks) is £325 (£305 for siblings), which is payed in 10 instalments through the year, which is adjusted depending on when the player joins the club.
We have a Christmas party on the last Saturday before Christmas and an End of Season party on the last Saturday of the season, when we have a doubles competition, food and fun.
