Calling all Bucks Masters Badminton Players
Thanks to all those who made themselves available and to those who played last season and a special thanks to the captains Robert Hempstead, Tanya Westney, Andrea Mitchell and Sandra Alderton. Without these dedicated captains we would not have teams.
It was a tough season, with a lot of cancellations and rearrangements but at the end of he season:
40’s finished 5th of 5
45’s finished 3rd of 4
55’s finished 3rd of 4
60’s finished 5th of 6
This coming season the teams have changed slightly
40’s new joint captains Nicola Clarke and Rebecca Blackwell
45’s will now be 50’s. Captain to be announced
55’s and 60’s stay the same. Andrea and Sandra as captains
Fixtures are currently being made and will be available at the Practice/Selection day
Practice/Selection day is Sunday 7th September 2025 at Wycombe Badminton Centre3pm to 6pm on 5 courts.
A small fee to help cover cost will be asked depending on numbers attending.
All players over 38 and eligible to play for Bucks are welcome.
Please let me know if you can attend by email to andrewnorris.kb@btinternet.com
I was intending to run a second date at MK , along with possibly the odd match , however, this is not possible due to planning difficulties from MK management. So all matches will remain at Wycombe
I am also looking for a new captain for the 50’s team. So let me know if interested, you must be prepared to make sure all your nominated players are fully aware of match dates, get a team out for all matches, organise food and collect match fees. I am always on hand to help and I’m sure Tanya will pass on advice
We have struggled a little for players and commitment over the last couple of seasons. And many matches were losses due to not having full committed teams. Let’s make this coming season a success with lots of wins.
Please come along and do attend the Practice/Selection on 7th September 2025
Please note, we do try to give as many players the opportunity to play for the county however we can’t always accommodate everyone due to the limited number of matches. It is team captains decisions on who they pick for their teams. Sometimes it may be on availability and commitment over standard.
Please help captains and let them know in advance of your availability.
Also note, the standard is high, so would recommend that you are club match standard
If anyone has any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact me or attend the Bucks CBA AGM on 13 August 2025 where you will have a chance to put forward any questions ideas or views.
Here’s to a successful 25/26 season
